Hey everyone! This is Danielle and Ryan, owners of the new vacation home in the NC mountains, S'more to Love.
We're often asked the question, what made you want to buy a home in the mountains and begin hosting others?
First, we absolutely LOVE to travel. We have stayed over 50 nights at vacation homes since we met and have learned something from each host/home that we are bringing to our own journey. Danielle has traveled to over 20 countries and brings every travel experience with her to this new hosting experience. Ryan leads a Customer Experience team and is responsible for leading on many of our initiatives to ensure we are providing the best possible experience to his company's portfolio of customers. Ryan and Danielle are both excited to bring their passion for travel design, attention to detail and love for adventure to this beautiful home!
Second, we LOVE the peace and calm of the mountains. So much so that when Ryan proposed to Danielle in 2016, it was quickly decided that we would get married in the NC mountains in the spring of 2017! On our honeymoon we traveled to 6 different towns in the Italian...you guessed it...mountains!
Three, we really wanted to buy a home big enough for families with kids...or even multiple families each with kids. Danielle and I have 3 kids under 7, so life is both crazy and such an incredible joy! they are going up so quickly, and we wanted to prioritize our time with them and our ability to create memories together. We are really excited to host other couples and families to help them disconnect from the world and reconnect with each other.
Fourth, we wanted to own a mountain home and never charge a single pet fee. Our 7 year old Goldendoodle was our first child, and view her as such a special part of our family. There is no way we could charge a fee for such a loved member of your family. Our Golden loves all the hikes and waterfalls as much as our 3 kids and we're hoping yours feels the same way!
Lastly, we wanted to make a difference. As we mention in the Overview section, there are charities to whom we donate 2% of gross rental amounts from each stay, based on which the month you arrive. It is an honor to have the opportunity to give back to four fantastic organizations working incredibly hard to make an impact on our world around us:
- Boys and Girls Club of America
- American Cancer Society
- Wounded Warrior Foundation
- St. Jude Children's Hospital
